V6 MAINTENANCE

Follow these simple tips to keep your V6 always at its best

Lubrication

The V6 Bishop Rotary Tattoo Machine is not pre-lubricated, so before the first use pour 2-3 drops of Super Lube Grease (supplied) in the area between the carriage and the machine body and 3-4 drops on the back of the gear.

Leave it running for 1 minute at 10 volts without grip and needle, so that the lubricant is better distributed. This can be repeated on average every 6 months (or sooner, depending on usage).

Important: An absence or excess of lubricant can irreparably compromise the engine performance of the V6 Bishop Rotary Tattoo Machine.

Spring

If you use cartridge needles you can remove the spring located in the bar. The cartridge needle already has its own dampening system: the combination with the spring in the bar of the V6 Bishop Tattoo Machine could have little thrust and consequently not start.

Voltage

For proper operation the V6 Bishop must remain on a voltage between 7.5 and 9 volts. Increase or decrease the voltage according to the type of work you will be doing. A voltage higher than 9 volts can cause damage to the motor.

For filling and shading set the V6 to between 6.5 and 8 volts, depending on your hand speed and style. For lining bring the V6 between 7 and 9 volts, depending on your hand speed and style.

Noise

Each V6 Tattoo Machine has its own "sound", being a handcrafted product. Don't worry! It is also related to the normal friction of the bar in the grip and the needle cartridge. This can also result in slight heating during use.
